The emergency plans in the area of responsibility of CECA make use of several marine resources. To be of value to your ARES group you should hold a Restricted (Marine) Certificate. US & CANADIANS RALLY AGAINST TOWER IT MAY INTERFERE WITH EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
A large tower that will broadcast punjabi programing is in the works for Pt Roberts Washington. There are concerns about interference and loss of emergency communications. For the rest of the story go to

NEW RADIO ROOM OPENS OCT 6TH 2013
Today, OCT 6th 2013, the new #1 Fire Hall on Gabriola Island will hold their open house from 1 – 4 pm. As part of this event the new radio room for ARES radio operations will also be open to the public. The new call sign will be VE7GEC.
While there is still much work to do in the radio room it will allow the public to see CECA, what CECA does, and how it is done. This facility will provide enhanced capabilities to the CECA area of responsibility. Congratulations to all involved.
