RAC BULLETIN. PLANNING MEETING & PUBLIC MEETING

Radio Amateurs of Canada holds Planning Meetings semi-annually to review the state of amateur radio and set direction for RAC for the coming years. These meetings are important events in the life of RAC because they provided a rare opportunity for the members of the RAC Board of Directors and RAC Executive to work together in person. Members of the Board of Directors and Executive live across Canada and regularly meet regularly electronically through by conference calls throughout the year.

In conjunction with the Planning Meeting, the Mississauga Amateur Radio Club and Peel Amateur Radio Club are co-hosting a Public Meeting to give RAC members and interested radio amateurs an opportunity to meet members of the RAC executive and Board and consider RAC’s activities and future directions.

This open meeting will take place Saturday evening May 23 in the Quality Suites Toronto Airport Hotel from 7pm to 9pm. As well as brief presentations by members of the RAC board Directors and executive officers, the meeting will highlight the contributions of radio amateurs the many volunteers across the country who design and deliver the many RAC programs and activities that RAC offers including, but not limited to: the Affiliated Clubs insurance program; The Canadian Amateur Magazine; RAC contests, Awards and recognition programs; the RAC Scholarship Program;, incoming and outgoing QSL Bureaux; representing Canadian radio amateurs to the Canadian government, at international meetings of amateur radio organizations and international negotiations deciding on amateur radio frequency allocations.

Those who cannot attend in person can participate in a webcast of the meeting by registering with the RAC Office at rachq@rac.ca

The next RAC public meeting will be the Annual General Meeting in July. Plan to attend the Saskatchewan Hamfest in Martensville from July 3 to 5, 2015 at the Northridge Community Centre – 901 3rd Street North.
