ARES and Emergency Planners should look at the attachment to confirm what we already know, social media will have an impact in times of crisis. What the attachment shows is just how reliant a large portion of the population is on social media. One VERY IMPORTANT issue still needs to be addressed; the reliability of the information on social media. ARES Leadership and Emergency Planners need to address this issue in their planning. We may not be able to fix, but we NEED to be able to deal with it.
