While all the Field Day reports are not in yet I am aware of multiple Field Day contacts in British Columbia with the International Space station. From the limited information received thus far and the material contained in the attachment it would appear the folks on the space station had a rather busy time. The fact they took the time out to do this work is much appreciated by all involved.
ARRL Headquarters will be closed on Independence Day, Friday, July 4, and there will be no W1AW bulletins or code practice on those days. ARRL Audio News will return July 11. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July holiday!
Once again this year the Yukon Amateur Radio Association had over a dozen hams on the route of the Kluane to Chilkat International Bike race. This race, from Haines Junction to Haines Alaska, will be held June 21 2014 is through beautiful country with many challenges for the riders..All repeaters in the southern district of our map will be in use..along with a monitor in Whitehorse to call police or ambulance if necessary. There is no cell phone coverage along the route and the race goes rain or shine.
The Yukon Amateur Radio Association maintains an excellent repeater system through the Yukon. To see the area covered by these repeaters go to http://yara.ca/repeaters/repeaters.htm
An interesting article from a senior member of Emergency Management BC. ARES members and others were asked for their comments as EMBC works its way through the BC Auditor Generals report.
