About Us

The Coast Emergency Communications Association (CECA) was established to maintain a group of volunteer, federally licensed amateur radio operators to provide accurate and efficient emergency communications to government, first responders and non-government agencies.  If requested, CECA will also provide assistance to other amateur groups.

CECA is a not-for-profit society registered under the Societies Act of British Columbia and is a registered charity.  We work in conjunction with the City of Nanaimo and the Regional District of Nanaimo Emergency Program Managers and other responders to provide emergency/auxiliary communications as needed.  In addition, members are part of the Public Service Lifeline Volunteer Program operated by Emergency Management British Columbia.

General meetings of the membership are held monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month.
