CECA NET PREAMBLE with Simplex script Aug 29 2017

 

NOTE:   At 18:55 hrs on 443.000 MHz  call as follows:

THIS IS VA7ECA, PLEASE STAND BY FOR THE CECA EMERGENCY NET AT 19:00 HRS.

Just before 19:00 hrs, call on the former CECA Net frequency 146.640 MHz, and notify listeners to switch to 443.000 MHz  for the weekly CECA Emergency Net. 

NET PREAMBLE  at 19:00 hrs:  

Calling the Coast Emergency Communications Association Emergency Net, this is VA7ECA

My name is ……………….and I am located in ……………………..

 

This Nanaimo Emergency Net specializes in the handling of formal traffic using the NTS format, and meets weekly on Tuesday nights at 1900 local time on the 443.000 MHz repeater.

 

All CECA stations are asked to remain on frequency for the duration of the Net unless excused by Net Control.

ARL numbered text is encouraged and messages should be limited to 25 words if possible.

 

Before starting the net, are there:

Any stations with emergency or priority traffic?

Stations with regular formal traffic starting with call signs Alpha-Golf come now

“       “        “          “          “         “           “      “     “     Hotel-Papa come now

“       “        “          “          “         “            “     “     “     Quebec-Zulu come now

Are there any missed stations with traffic?  Come now.

Any stations with net bulletins?

Roll call will be by way of call sign suffix.  Please ensure that your call sign is acknowledged by Net Control due to possible doubling.   Once stations have checked in we will begin the passing of traffic.

 

Stations with call signs Alpha – Golf come now.

Stations with call signs Hotel – Papa come now.

Stations with call signs Quebec – Zula come now

 

I will now commence the passing of regular formal traffic, starting with …

Are there any stations, late or missed that would like to check in now?   Are there any interested amateurs who would like to check in?

 

(Call Training Manager and ask if there is a training session for the net.)

 

(IF any other amateurs checked in, say: Interested amateurs who would like to become a member of the Coast Emergency Communications Association are invited to go to our CECA website at  va7eca.ca/   for contact information.

Are there any stations with anything further for the net?   Nothing heard. This ends the CECA emergency net.

CECA NET CONTROL – SIMPLEX PORTION

August 2017

 

 

  1. Start the Simplex portion of the Net after any Net traffic has been passed.

 

  1. Announce the frequency change to 146.580 Simplex as follows:

 

THIS IS VA7ECA SWITCHING TO 146.580. VA7ECA CLEAR.

 

  1. Change to the new frequency and pause for a few seconds before saying:

 

IS THE FREQUENCY CLEAR? (listen to make sure the frequency is not being used)

THIS IS VA7ECA FOR THE COAST EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATION NET.  I WILL NOW GO THROUGH THE CHECK IN-LIST CALLING EACH STATION BY CALL SIGN.

 

Call the stations that have already checked in.

 

Ask for any late or missed stations after the roll call.

 

  1. Direct the Net to return to 443.000, as follows:

 

THIS IS VA7ECA SWITCHING TO 443.000. VA7ECA CLEAR.

 

  1. Continue with the regular Net script at the place where you ask for ‘any stations late or missed that would like to check in now’.

 

Notes:

  • If the Simplex frequency is in use, move to the next Simplex frequency on your list.
  • If there is an EMERGENCY, break in to the conversation and request to use the frequency for emergency traffic.
