As of 1500 hrs Saturday Sept 28th BC Ferries have cancelled some sailings, there are power outages reported in various locations and flood warnings have been issued in Washington state. Another weather system is scheduled to arrive later this evening. Please ensure you check your local weather.

The weather office has issued forecast #272244 for the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley Howe Sound, Whistler and Vancouver Island. This forecast contains heavy rain and wind warnings for the weekend. #272245 covers the interior of BC and is a special weather warning.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather warning for this weekend ( SEPT 28th 29th 2013). Heavy rains and high winds are expected along the coast.. Check your local forecast for this weekend.
The following stat was delivered at the IARU Region 2 conference on Sept.24th. If over 1200 earthquakes doesn’t make you think about being prepared for an emergency I am not sure what will ……
“Over 1279 earthquakes in Pacific NW over last year. Major concern for disaster communications.”
Police Forces in BC continue to enforce the Distracted Driver Legislation. The stats in the attached website are for five hours. Many folks in the amateur community worked very long and hard to get the exemption we currently enjoy,. Please make sure not to use a handheld or portable device while driving. We don’t need to loose the exemption we currently enjoy.
