A Special Thank You DEC 22 2018

A special thank you and note of appreciation to all those who are working hard to clean up the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the southern Gulf Islands after the recent storm. BC Hydro crews are near the top of the list, but so are first responders who are working with the Hydro crews to ensure everyone is safe. There are also the ESS volunteers working at the warming centres and radio operators maintaining listening watches on frequencies prepared to aid those without phones or other available communication. It would be foolish to try and list all those who are helping so please take this thank you to each of you working to help others . May you have a very Merry Christmas ( even if you can’t do it on the 25th !) and a safe and prosperous 2019

Multiple EOC’s Open as Storm Hits BC Coast. Dec 20 2018

Multiple jurisdictions have opened their EOC’S ( Emergency Operation Centres) in response to the storm that has hit the BC south coast.  BC Hydro has hundreds of power outages, 442 Search and Rescue Squadron was activated earlier this day and conducted a rescue.   As always monitor you local media, be aware of the dangers of downed power lines, and don’t venture out unless necessary emergency crews have their hands full.
