The “Buddies in the Caribbean” mini-DXpedition group is headed next to the Grenadines (J8). Eight operators will be based at an island-top villa called “Isis” on the island of Bequia from February 10 – 18, 2014.  

 

This “Suitcase DXpedition” will operate QRP to 100-watt radio stations using Buddipole antenna systems configured as dipoles, verticals, yagis, and vertical arrays. Operations will take place from the island-top villa, the surrounding mountains, and (of course) from Bequia’s superb beaches and ocean overlook locations.

 

Per tradition, meeting and operating with local hams while on J8 is one of the team’s goals.

 

The eight operators are Mike—KC4VG, Steve—WG0AT, Wey—K8EAB, Dan—WZ1P, Bill—W7ZT, Paul—KB9AVO, Chris—W6HFP, and Budd—W3FF. Ops will preface their own calls with “J8/”.
