CONGRATULATIONS TO BC HAMS- VE7IO,VE7WWW,VA7SPJ
Congratulations to the following BC HAMS
Fred Orsetti,VE7IO, for his election as President of Surrey Emergency Program Amateur Radio Society. Fred has served in this capacity in the past and has now returned to chair this active group. Fred also serves as the BC/Yukon Section Emergency Coordinator.
Bill Foster VE7WWW, for his selection by Emergency Management British Columbia as a 2014 Public Safety Lifeline Volunteer Award winner- Emergency Radio Communications. This award recognizes volunteers for their outstanding contribution during the year. In addition Bill recently received his Public Service Honour Roll certificate- with tenure- from RAC. Bill is also the Bulletin Manager for the BC/Yukon Section.
Jim Spencer VA7SPJ was also selected by Emergency Management British Columbia as a 2014 Public Safety Lifeline Volunteer Award winner – PEP Air. Jim is the Vancouver Island Search Coordinator and Air Deputy for PEP Air in Nanaimo. He works closely with the RCAF and ground search and rescue teams. Jim is also an active member of the Coast Emergency Communications Association.
Bill Foster and Jim Spencer will be honoured at a formal event held on May 26th at the BC Legislature.
