EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WEEK IS MAY 4TH -10TH 2014..
This is a good week to promote amateur radio in your community. ARES units, showcase your teams, equipment and capabilities. Hopefully after all the weather events this winter there will be more of an interest in emergency preparedness.
MAINE HAMS HELP WASHINGTON STATE.
An interesting story of how a 12 yr old 5th grader in Maine provided help and support to those involved affected by the mudslide in Oso Washington.
WASHINGTON ARES/RACES ACTIVATION ENDS
The ARES/RACES activation involving the mudslide at OSO Washington ended yesterday, April 30th 2014. There was some great work done during this activation which started on March 22 2014. Thanks to all the volunteers involved in this effort. For more details go to

ONTARIO AMATEURS PARTICIPATE IN CANWARN.

AMSTERDAM ISLAND EXPEDITION.
The folks from the Amsterdam Island Expedition, FT5ZM, have an interesting book available at the site noted below. This is the group that included two BC Hams, Neil King VA7DX and Steve Wright VE7CT. At the website there is a preview function that allows you to get an idea of the book.
