The RAC Band Planning Committee has released an updated band plan for all LF and HF (0-30 MHz) amateur allocations. This includes the new LF bands at 2200m and 600m, the 60m USB channels, and changes to reflect current best practice on other bands.

The updated band plan represents the RAC Band Planning Committee’s year-long review of all LF and HF allocations. It is intended to be a quick reference guide summarizing all bands on a single page. Special thanks go to Vince d’Eon, VE6LK, for designing the graphic and enduring many revisions.

During the Planning Meeting held in Toronto late May this year, the RAC ARES ID card was reviewed and subsequently a decision to suspend issuing these was taken. During a Section Managers Meeting on 28 May, the SMs were advised of this either by their participation in that meeting or through the Meeting Minutes, item #3, that were shared among all the SMs.

The primary reason for this action was ambiguous wording on the card and potential liability issues.

The Formula one is in Canada this week-end and it appears that they use frequencies assigned for amateur radio. All those frequency are broadcasted constantly since they setup the site. The most troublesome is at 444.1Mhz witch is the output of a local repeater…https://youtu.be/58eEm4c8mwg…

Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) is pleased again to announce that in 2015 we will be offering scholarships to young Amateurs who are enrolled at the post secondary level in Electrical, Electronic and Software engineering. Students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs will be considered on a case by case basis. You must be an Amateur and the deadline for applications is July 31, 2015.
