Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous 2019. To those involved with ARES thank you for you community service and your dedication to helping those in need.
A special thank you and note of appreciation to all those who are working hard to clean up the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the southern Gulf Islands after the recent storm. BC Hydro crews are near the top of the list, but so are first responders who are working with the Hydro crews to ensure everyone is safe. There are also the ESS volunteers working at the warming centres and radio operators maintaining listening watches on frequencies prepared to aid those without phones or other available communication. It would be foolish to try and list all those who are helping so please take this thank you to each of you working to help others . May you have a very Merry Christmas ( even if you can’t do it on the 25th !) and a safe and prosperous 2019
The IARU Region 1 requests 7.110Mhz be kept clear for emergency operations beind conducted in response to the recent tsumani. As always please ensure the frequency is clear prior to use
