Congratulations to the members of the Coast Emergency Communications Association and the Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association for their work during the 52nd running of Loyal Nanaimo Bathtub Race today. Over 25 amateur operators participated in the event providing safety and emergency communications as 36 tubs ran the 58 km race in calm conditions. Multiple stations were established using both amateur and marine frequencies. The radio operators were only a portion of the volunteers that made the event a success.
