Registration is now open
The SEA-PAC registration is now open. Save $5 by registering online as an early bird before April 15. Early bird registrations will receive a bonus entry into the prize drums giving you two chances for some really great prizes this year. Extra prize tickets may be purchased at the convention. Hotels have announced their special SEA-PAC rates. Many fill up quickly, so book your rooms now. Be sure to ask for your SEA-PAC rate.
ARRL President Rick Roderick, K5UR has confirmed that he will attend along with the Leagues CEO Howard Michel, WB2ITX and Bob Inderbitzen, NQ1R. ARRL Northwest Division Director Mike Ritz, W7VO and Vice-Director Mark Tharp, KB7HDX will also be attending with other ARRL officials. Here’s your chance to visit with them one on one.
Jeri Ellsworth, AI6TK will be our keynote speaker at the Saturday evening banquet. She will also present “The Challenge of Doing” at the Saturday YL lunch. The Saturday DX lunch presentation will be about “The 2018 Norfolk Island DXpedition”.
There will be a Friday workshop on “Power and Communication When Everything Goes Dark” presented by Mark Breakey, KB7RHI. Many seminars on Saturday and Sunday of various topics will be listed on the website. The Friday night special activity is “Radios on the Beach”. Bring your portable radios and enjoy the sunset with other hams. We will also have VE testing for licenses and upgrades. The 7th district QSL bureau will do card checking at the convention. Local area hams are putting on their usual Friday evening all you can eat Spaghetti dinner. $1 off admission with ham license or SEA-PAC registration.
The Saturday drawing includes a Yaesu FTDX-1200 HF, Icom IC-7100, IC7300, Kenwood TM-D710G and several HT’s. The Sunday drawing includes an Icom IC-7300 HF radio, Kenwood TS-480 HX, Yaesu FTM-400XDR and several other HT’s. Both drawings will include many other mobile and VHF/UHF transceivers and other ham related items. We will have many outstanding hourly door prizes for Saturday and Sunday drawings this year. There will be some other great banquet and early bird prizes. Register before April 15 to be entered in the early bird drawing.
We will again have a SEA-PAC collector’s pin contest. The winner gets 2 tickets to the Saturday night banquet. See if you can design a pin for 2019. Details on the web page. Entries must be received by March 1.
The Seaside Convention Center expansion of the facilities continues at a rapid pace. It will not be totally completed by the time we start the convention, so we ask your indulgence as we work around the construction changes this year. The flea market area will be the most impacted and limited in available space this year. General registrations are now open. Remember your $10 online adult admission is valid for both Saturday and Sunday. (The Friday workshop is extra.) The student rate for ages 13-17 is only $5. For children 12 and under, admission is FREE with a paid adult admission. Bring the family for a great vacation for everyone. The convention center is only a short walk to the beach and many area hotels. Make your hotel and convention reservations now!
