The Nanaimo Amateur Radio Club (NARA) is providing a Basic Radio Course starting mid-September and an Advanced course in January at the NARA Club location in Nanaimo.
The Basic Course starts Saturday September 22nd and runs for 6 weeks with the exam on week 7. The club has an ISED certified examiner who will conduct the exam on week 7.
The Advance Course, which you need your Basic Licence first, is planned for mid-January for 7 weeks and the exam in week 8.
The cost is estimated to be $120 per student including the study guide and one-year club membership. This is payable to the club. The exact cost will be determined shortly as the study guide costs vary from year to year based on volume and shipping costs.
The Basic course is designed to take someone with little to no electronics background through to the exam.
The Saturday classes format will be lectures in the morning and hands on with equipment in the afternoons.
Please let me know via email (mycallsign@gmail.com) with your full name, email and phone number and more details will be provided as they become available.
